Ali Zafar on Bollywood's new international love story London Paris New York

THIS weekend sees the launch of Twentieth Century Fox and Rose Productions' new international-flavoured Bollywood release, the love story London Paris New York, also known as LPNY.

The coming-of-age comedy stars Bollywood's newest stars: Pakistani actor, singer and musician Ali Zafar (Tere Bin Laden, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan), who has also penned and performs on the official soundtrack to the film, and South Indian actress Aditi Rao Hydari (Yeh Sali Zindagi, Rockstar). Zafar talks about his involvement in the film in an interview included below.

Making her directorial debut is actress Anu Menon, a former student at the London Film School who is known for her roles in off-beat, independent cinema releases Raat Gayi, Baat Gayi and Quick Gun Murugun: Misadventures of an Indian Cowboy.

London Paris New York follows the journey of love between star-crossed twenty-somethings Nikhil (Ali Zafar) and Lalitha (Aditi Rao Hydari) who who find themselves drawn to each other in the most unlikely of circumstances, amid the exciting backdrop of three of the world's most vibrant cities.

The coming-of-age comedy is designed to appeal to young viewers and the filmmakers promise "London Paris New York speaks their language, reflects their aspirations and the angst and joys of falling in love."

Ali Zafar is a musician, composer, songwriter, singer, actor, painter and model. Known for songs such as Channo, Rangeen and Chal Dil Merey, he penned and performed the score of London Paris New York, which experiments with various genres to match the emotions showcased in the film. The soundtrack also features the vocals of Zafar and Aditi Rao Hydari.
