Its confirmed now that Muammar Gadaffi’s sons two sons have been arrested; Gaddafi’s third son Al-Saadi Al-Gaddafi and second son of Gadaffi’s Saif Al-Islam Al-Gaddafi. Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi has pledged once again to remain in Tripoli until the end, as opposition fighters battled their way towards the capital to reinforce rebels who rose up in the city overnight. After these arrests NATO says in a statement asking Gaddafi to surrender.

Fighting continued into Sunday morning in a few central and eastern neighbourhoods, and rebel flags were raised over some buildings, witnesses said. Libyan rebels entered central Tripoli Sunday in a final move to end Moammar Gadhafi’s four-decade rule. The militants took over the symbolic Green Square, renaming it “Martyr’s Square” for those who have given their lives, and took control of key roads and airports. Much of the population took cover inside their homes. The clashes came a day after forces loyal to Gaddafi used heavy machine guns and mortars to confront lightly armed opposition forces and protesters who took to the streets.

Representatives for Libya’s rebel army told several news outlets Sunday evening that they have captured Saif Gaddafi at the Rixos Hotel in Tripoli, and Al Jazeera reported that another son, Muhammad Gaddafi, has surrendered. “Tonight it’s over,” the spokesman said. However, Gaddafi said the Tripoli government still in power. “They lied about the absence of our troops in Tripoli. Currently Tripoli is still safe and in very good condition,” said government spokesman, Ibrahim Musa
